Kendall Carlton Durfey
Parents, Students and other visitors,
On Saturday, January 27th, 2001 ten people were killed in a plane crash near Byers Colorado. This plane carried people associated with the Oklahoma State University men's basketball team. One of the people killed was a good friend of mine named Kendall Durfey. Kendall and I went to the same high school (Coweta High School, Coweta, OK), and I lived with Kendall and his brother Nelson in a trailer at OSU. In addition, Kendall video taped my wedding, and his brother Nelson was my best man. Kendall was a very "wild and crazy guy" and many stories could be told which should not be told here. Stories of float trips, su-pah looongs, midnight movies, radio stations, refrigerator urinals, camping trips, Lone Star
boat outings, and many, many, more. Kendall was also a very generous and giving person. He and his wife Patti opened their home to my family (no small
sacrifice) whenever we were in town. Kendall and my wife were "birthday buddies" and he would call or send a card every year on their birthday. Kendall is survived by his wife Patti, daughter Ashley, mother Ellen Warren, father Fulton Warren, brother Nelson, and sisters Amy and Karlene. His father Dr. Thomas Durfey and his grandmother Suzy-Q preceeded him in death. We all miss and love you, Kendall! I can assure you that my family will continue to pray for you!
